London Studio Centre History

When Bridget Espinosa opened the London Studio Centre she was very aware of the need to provide dancers with the very best training in dance, music and drama in preparation for various careers in the professional theatre. This approach is based on her own auspicious career and has proved successful ever since.

Bridget Espinosa trained at Elmhurst Ballet School. As a dancer she spent nine years as principal soloist with the International Ballet, working with Mona Inglesby, Nicholas Sergeyev, Leonide Massine, Maurice Bejart and other leading artists. Her considerable work as a choreographer and director ranged from a revue for the New York World Fair to West End productions. She later returned to Elmhurst Ballet School to spend nine years as Artistic Director, prior to holding the same position at Bush Davies Ballet School.

" Her commitment to dance education and training is rooted in an unbroken family tradition."

Bridget’s son, Nicholas Espinosa, joined the London Studio Centre as a director in 1981. He is a member of the Council for Dance Education and Training (UK) Executive Committee and Chairman of the British Ballet Organisation.

London Studio Centre celebrated its 30th birthday in 2008. The college has an outstanding international reputation for providing dance training to a wide variety of disciplines, enabling our students to become versatile and valuable members of the theatrical profession. Each department is, in its own right, a centre of excellence where students can train to a high professional standard.

Through our association with University of the Arts London, the Theatre Dance Course at the London Studio Centre not only offers a thorough training in the skills required for a career in the professional theatre, but also internationally recognised qualifications.
Our unique and successful modular programme enables students to follow a broad based training, specialising in their chosen field for their final year. We seek to preserve and nourish the individuality and creative spirit of each of our students, encouraging them to develop as performers and to accelerate their individual progress.
